First and foremost, Gong Hei Fatt Choi!
It's my 4th day back in Switzerland and i'm having an off-day.
For a start, i treated myself with some Tambun bicscuits. Eating them makes me feel more like a chinese again... yes, after past few days of eating pasta, spaghetti, potatoes, salads... i wouldn't say i'm sick of western food because it's only my fourh day here. Not to mention, they prepare really delicious meals. Not in big portions, but that's good, keep myself slim :D After all, i promised everyone back home that when i return here, i would be.. thin.. again XD You guys have no idea how much have i indulged in back home. The beef noodles, nasi lemak with sotong, sushi, chicken rice, roti telur, char kuey teow, pan mee, mum's sui kao, chinese style pork knuckles, seafood... oh i should stop.
I know you guys must be wondering how have i been, since my last post was so suicidal. Well, i'm alright now. At least i'm not crying as much anymore. I feel a tad stronger mentally now :) (not self-praising ok!) But i'm not feeling very well though. Been sneezing and having runny nose ever since i arrived. The funny thing is, all doctors in msia said i will recovery instantly when i go back to Switz due to the cleaner air. I kinda pity my body. It has to adapt to cold-hot-cold weather drastically.
Anyway, right after having brunch at the hotel, i headed straight down to Luzern. Met up with Tiffany and Monica, chatted over a cup of hot chocolate :) We headed to school too, wanted to collect my Certificate but stupid admin close so early.
I had dinner alone and treated myself with Beijing Duck Rice at a Chinese Restaurant and a cup of hot 'Ying Yong'.. The chinese auntie at the restaurant came over to my table and gave me a packet of angpao and wished me Xin Nian Kuai Le with a smile. I was so overwhelmed. It's not about the money inside the red packet. They made me realised one thing; Even though they are living in Switzerland for 20 over years, they still remember that it's Chinese New Year today... and i believe, Chinese, no matter where they are, should not forget this day. It's a day that reminds us where we come from, our roots, our cultures and that's what brings us together.
Coming to Switzerland definitely made me appreciate Chinese New Year more. For the past 20 years, it was all about the "ang pao's"... till today. From this day on, i will learn to appreciate the other meaning of this celebration.
Beijing Duck Rice for dinner on Chinese New Year :)
