Wish you were here

I’ve been having holidays on Friday for the past 3 weeks! That saves me up to RM9 bucks for parking! Woot! I’m happy :)

Well, last night’s kitchen class was tiring. My station started off badly with the brioche dough but we tried to amend it. But hey, it turned out pretty good in the end. I’m glad :) Our Fricassee de Volaille a l'ancienne was… I don’t know what to say, really. I mean, it was ok just that the chicken was over-stewed and the sauce was too watery… We should have added more flour before that. But never mind..

On the other hand, we’ve actually planned to head out to Zouk tonight but because DJ Paul Van dyke is coming, all tables have been booked like.. 2 weeks ago. So my girls and I decided not to go since it will be packed like sardine. It sucks when it's crowded i know, you can hardly move. My boy wont like it either as the people there will be standing so close to each other and all the crap. If you get what I mean…

Well, I feel weird... as though I've got stuff to do but I'm not doing any. I've got no more assignments due! So damn unbelievable right. Haha it's so hard to adjust to being 'assignment-less' after having to submit gazillion assignments on a term-ly basis for the past few terms. I need to rest and slack a bit before I start prep for the exams.

Hmm, I miss the boy. Havent seen him for the past 5 days, felt like a month. I wonder if I can survive it out there in Switzerland without him. I’ll miss him for sure but i aint got a choice. Sigh…

Anyway, I’ve been cooking quite a bit at home from mushroom soup to chicken with mushroom sauce… All mushroom dish ehh.. hehe.. I absolutely love mushrooms lor.. and anything creamy :) And omg, I felt so guilty after drinking whipping cream during pastry class. Yes, u read it right, I DRANK WHIPPING CREAM. Wonder when is the boy free to go jogging with me… hmmm..

Haha.. i'm excited for the weekend too! Nothing's been confirmed but we'll sure be doing stuff and i cant wait!

At Canton-i having lunch with my sweetest heart.

But when there's newspaper around, my sweetest heart will pay as lil attention as possible to me :(

Here's my bee, having his takoyaki. I've never come across anyone so sweet and cute like him :)

Cooked chicken with mushroom sauce at home. Here are the steps;

1. marinate the chicken with salt & pepper. Seared it a lil.
2. put it on a roasting tray with chopped leek, celery and onions
add in a bouquet garni or fresh mixed herbs
3. Moisten with a little instant chicken stock
4. Leave it over medium heat on the stove or oven.

My end result :)
Google up some mushroom sauce recipe. Very easy.

Thought it was too plain, so i chopped the remaining celery and onions and cooked them with oyster mushroom. Sprinkle some salt and pepper. And that's about it :)

Updates

Well I decided to remind myself to never watch stupid crushed-to-death, horror, disgusting, hit-by-truck, freak accident, thriller films ever again! Never waste your money AGAIN, Jeanette!

Yeah… sadly we caught Final Destination. Of course there were other cheerful, heartwarming comedies like G-Force and TheUglyTruth but I decided to accompany my darling (as you know, he is a ghost/horror film fanatic) Well, being predictable as always, I closed my eyes the entire time… well, not really. Only the parts where I knew someone’s body/head’s gonna get crushed/chopped/sliced etc. ARGhhh... I didn't fancy anything at all in the movie, not the songs and definitely not the story.. Hate hate hate it!

The Ugly Truth, on the other hand, was a wayyyy better movie. A romantic comedy is typically my type of show, always! This one is filled with adult humor (and some crude comments), oh, it got me rolling with laughter throughout the movie as well as the rest of the audience. It gets a lil horny sometimes, so definitely not one to the kids. Go watch it! You’ll have a good time :)

Another interesting note; I finally get to meet up with my dears. It has been awfully long since we last met… and you girls still look fabulously good! Had a great time catching up with them. We got really drained shopping the entire day, from clothes to shoes to accessories etc. Oh, we had a fantastic time chatting over some sweet desserts too :) We should do this more often, when we’re not so broke or when our purse is slightly thicker of course :)

Will upload the pictures
soon!

Bonne nuit!

Head Over Heels

So it's been some time... doubt anyone missed me? Haha. Oh wells, I had to blog, cause I made some interesting stuff over the weekend to share with you guys.

Before that, I’ve gotten my time table for the next term
(which is gonna be my final term to finally graduate from diploma). Of all the terms, term 6 has gotta have the best time table! So darn free, no more 8a.m classes and we could sneak home so darn early. Good news to my darling coz I get to have lunch with him too :)

Anyway, my brother has left to London last Friday to pursue his engineering course and I wont be seeing him for the next two years or more. My eldest brother on the other hand has moved out for his career purposes. So, there are just four of us left (my parents, sister and myself). Hate the horrible feeling of emptiness sometimes. I used to think that my house is small and too crowded for 6 people but I guess not anymore.

Sigh, I love my siblings. I pray to have them as my siblings in my next life too. I would want my boy (definitely), my family and my friends, everyone just the way they are. Damn, we should never take the life we lead for granted. We should live each day like it's our last and I do try my best to stick by that. Ok I'm drifting off.

On the other hand, I’m knee-deep in reports! I still have like… 6 more to go.. Argh, I’m so gonna be tied up this break, again! Yet, I still have time for movies..hehe.. gonna head out for a movie after this.. either catch final destination or TheUglyTruth. I’m so excited for the latter one and I bet I’m gonna close my eyes the entire time of Final Destination. The boy is on his way now..

Bye folks!

Few days before our final Term 5 exams we go cheong-k.. and i havent started studying.

Then, the weekend has finally arrived.. and it's time to hit the books!

Got too fed up and freaking tired of studying, so i gathered some ingredients and started making Creme Caramel. Also because i've been longing for something sweet like this for ages..

1st- make caramel and then spread it out on a mold.
2nd- make custard mixture and fill it in d mold and bake for 20minutes, 150 degrees C.

For accurate measurements and recipe, go ask Mr.Google.

And tadaaaaaaaaaaaaa.... my creme caramel.
You should really try this recipe out. It's really simple and gorgeous for snacks/dessert.

After exams, on our way to the airport to send my brother to London.
People assume i'm the younger daughter... how nice of them :D

Today, at Vivo having some pasta that doesnt taste very good.. i dunno.. taste weird..

After our meals.. i love the 'young look' i have, compared to many younger people :D
If you get what i mean...

Friday, September 4, 2009

Oh wow, I didn't realise that I haven't quite blogged in more than a month, seeing that my last post was on 3rd July? Amazing... haha yeah, I guess I'm that lazy these days, or I'd like to say busy too!

Swamped with assignments, yes I am! But thankfully I’ve completed all of them and I’ve got no worries for now.. except maybe the final exam and psr.

My first assignment was a pain to complete. It was about organizing an event called Midsummer’s Muggles Feast, featuring witches and wizardry. I was in charged of table setting and completing 11 centre pieces was… troublesome. But luckily my bee helped me out. Merci :) And I’m glad the guests and my team mates liked my centerpiece. At least my efforts are not wasted.

Anyway, darling and I caught many movies for the past 7 weeks and of all the movies, the one which I truly enjoyed was Disney's Pixar Up. The first 5-10 minutes of Up is nothing short of beautiful. Truly, it was the most emotional portion of the entire film. They were portraying the story of Carl and his wife Ellie and the wonderful life they share together. Carl is such a lovable character that you feel for him from the very beginning and you feel his joy. When his wife passes away, you feel his loss. By the end of the whole sequence, I was in tears…

The Proposal is a really nice romantic comedy,, I like the growing chemistry between Sandra and Ryan Reynolds, very entertaining and sweet. I’ve always enjoyed such film. I think I like it even better than those blockbusters. Probably won't have you rolling with laughter, but it is an enjoyable diversion. If you go see it, chances are that you will be happy you went. So, go watch it! Don't miss it while it is still in theaters. Et oh mon dieu, monsieur Ryan est très beau et charmant!

G.I. Joe was unexpected. It got draggy a lil towards the ending but it was great. Love the futuristic technology involved, it was cool but I think there’s just too much of it. And yeah, too much of anything isn’t good right? Except for money i guess :D

Well, over the Merdeka weekend, I went to ipoh with Jermyn to visit his parents. Had lots of fun there tasting ipoh’s delicacies. His mum is always really nice to me la.. felt so warm there with them.

Holidays

So the break has been nothing short of fabulous. We had so much fun at Ipoh, with baby’s family of course :)

Lots of stuff to mention but I'm lazy to write much now, perhaps later if I'm really that bored.

I think i've put on weight.. again! Had lots of durians for the past 2 weeks. Hmm, i love durians. I wonder if they have durian perfume. Wanna get some and put in my car :)

I didn't catch any movies last week but I plan to, this weekend, if possible.

Speaking of movies, I really wanted to get the tix for the Transformers movie last week but I've decided to give it a miss due to swine flu cases every where.. and i'm scared :/

It’s refreshing when you get a chance to sit down with a friend and chat over tea for hours at an end.

Come to ipoh, if i dont eat this kai si hor fun, i feel very guilty and bersalah to myself. Hehe.

I love it so much.. really cant find any where as good as this.

Had this at Ipoh's famous curry mee shop.

Tried the famous Ramli mee rebus. Darn, it's so good! Hardly find good ones in KL.

Had this mee rebus just before he head to Lost World.

Us at Lost World theme park. Our wet look :)

He looks like my cat, i mean totoro.

Had dinner with his parents at Same Taste. This shop is famous for their tong fun crab.

Moi et l'abeille

My time table for next term seems pretty free. And oh, i've not started my PSR. Pretty hard to allocate some time for this report. Sigh. Hopefully term 5 turns out better than the previous terms.

I Was Once His Beautiful Girl

I’m writing about what lies beneath this beautiful and meaningful song called Beautiful Girl by Jose Marie Chan. (If you like soothing songs, I bet you’ll like this one)

On 8th February 2008, I recall my bf sang this song to me on this date when the clock strikes 12.00a.m.- It was my birthday :)

I still remember he said the lyrics in this song was exactly how he felt towards me when we first got together.

Since then, this song became ‘our’ song.

He sang this song to me over the phone countless times when I couldn’t sleep.

I’ve even planned to put this song on our Wedding day- 8 years down the road, we’ll dance a waltz upon our grand entrance, illustrating myself in a beautiful white satin strapless bridal swing dress at a lavishly decorated ballroom in a prestigious hotel, with a single spotlight glaring... right at us.

Every time I listen to this song, I feel loved and fortunate.

Listening to this song, over and over again, is one the greatest joys in life.

Because this song keeps reminding me of how blessed I am to have him.

This morning, as I put on my mp3, I came across this song.

This is the first time I’m listening to this song with so many emotions inside me.

I felt not only loved and fortunate but depressed, angry, confused, betrayed, disappointed and weak.

I cried myself to sleep last night, shedding tears of regret and sadness.

I woke up this morning, reading and replying his messages in tears.

I’m in a daze.

Training Review

12th June 2009 marks the end of my 2nd industrial training *heave a sigh of relief*

I’m so glad the training is over. Actually it wasn’t that bad considering I have 2 days off per week excluding public holidays but I’m just glad that I do not have to wake up at 5.55a.m in the morning. Nevertheless, Crowne Plaza was indeed a good place for training. It was better before I heard coz they gave out trainings to trainees. But we received NONE this time, probably due to economic crisis thus cut down trainings for us. So not cool!

Anyway, I chose Crowne Plaza for convenience sake and not because of friends. Was surprised to find out Shin, Anne and David also chose this hotel. Also, i wanted to try out a whole new different environment – not any prestigious and luxurious hotels like Hilton, Mandarin Oriental or Le Meridien. I wanted to experience a different type of hotel, preferably an averagely-prestige hotel like Crowne Plaza. Damn shit coz I thought it was just 3 or 4 Stars but later on found out it was 5 Stars. I was shocked but never mind, it didn’t look like a 5-star anyway. Omg, I’m so mean. Never mind. I went to the same departments like before – Front Office and Housekeeping.

Anyway, I like the people over all but then again, I missed Le Meridien Hotel.

End of training marks the beginning of PSR. GAhhhh.. I feel so reluctant to start doing this bloody Professional Situation Report. I’m still thinking of the topics and I’ve been thinking for the past 3 months and guess what? I still can't figure out what topic to do. I’m so doomed.

On a brighter note, I’m gonna have a little reunion with Vann tomorrow. Hehe. Feel like pigging out at Chinoz On The Park. We’ll see what our tastebuds are in the mood for then.

Oh, another thing. I caught 17Again with the bf and my sister. Omg, Zac Efron left me speechless! He was so charming in the movie. I've always admired him since High School Musical 1. I remember my sister and i used to scream over his name whenever we watch High School Musical and we've already watched it so many times coz it keeps repeating on Disney Channel. But still, we could never get enough of him. Anyway, I read so many reviews about this movie and there were countless remarks saying "I-thought-Zac Efron-was-just-the-wanna-be pretty boy-with-his Disney-effects-but-boy-i-was surprised-when-i-watch-17 Again- Zac Efron-CAN-act-and-my-opinions-have-changed-about-him. He-is-definitely-a-talented-star " See people, dont underestimate him!

So, about the show. It was witty and well-acted. Totally hilarious, sometimes greatly acted and awesome direction for the most part and a genuinely an enjoyable and moving film. I enjoyed Zac Efron's performance in all his movies but would love to see him in a serious grown up dramatic role.

Au revoir!

Very expensive chocolates. Arranged them for Tiffins to sell and helped to eat as well :)

The doughnuts which i made, starting from the dough to frying and dipping them in choc/sugar. Gosh, i remember i ate so many of them.
